Four Months Old!

Parker had his four month check up this morning and is doing great! He weighs 14 lbs 5.5 oz and is 26.5 in. - That's 40th percentile for weight and 90th for height! He's a tall little guy. His appointment went fine right up until the end when the nurse came back in the second time. You know what that means...nasty shots! I wish I could say he took it like a champ but he was not a happy camper. Poor baby! He cried, I cried, and Chad...well, of course he didn't cry! I'm sure glad he was there. He goes back at the beginning of December for his six month appt., so you know what that means, Mom - you get to go! :)

Go Giants!

Parker got to wear his new Giants jersey yesterday. It must have brought them luck...they won 24-0! Chad would have preferred it was a Bills jersey, but even he had to admit he looked pretty darn cute in it!

Thanks for my new jersey, Aunt Danielle!

Here is Parker saying a few words about the Giants...he gets a little distracted by his hand in the middle but eventually finishes what he has to say!

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'!

Parker can roll over! The other night he was on his tummy playing and all of a sudden he threw his leg back and pushed himself onto his back. It all happened so fast and then he just kind of layed there like, "What just happened?" I've been trying to get him to do it again since then but he hasn't. Then this morning I went in to get him in his crib and he had rolled over! So exciting! Hopefully he'll do it again soon so we can actually see him do it.

And we were VERY happy this morning...he slept 7 1/2 hours straight!! He's starting to sleep a little better these days, but usually only sleeps 6 hours at the most. I still panic for a minute when I wake up before him thinking something is wrong but he's always fine...and weirdly enough, he normally wakes up withing a few minutes of us looking at the monitor! Can he see us looking at him? :)

Sitting Up On My Own!

We decided to pull out the Bumbo chair (now you know what it is, Mom!) this weekend now that Parker is holding his head up on his own. He's a little wobbly at times but seems to enjoy it as long as he has something to look at while he sits there. He usually likes to watch the Learning Puppy..."It's learning time, ruff ruff!"

He tends to tip to the left after sitting there for awhile!

What did you say Learning Puppy??

And thanks to Aunt Brenda, my mommy thinks it's funny to put my pants on my head and giggle at me. I'm not so sure I think this is funny!

Mommy, what did you do to me?

Ok, maybe it's kinda funny!

Getting Back In Shape

Chad has been talking about lately about how he needs to get back in shape (since he's the one who just had a baby and needs to lose a few pounds!) so he put Parker in his new jogging stroller and took him (and Sadie) for a run. Parker did great in it! He rode for a lot longer than he normally does. I think he likes it better because he can see where he's going. I tried to put him in it this morning when I went for a walk to test it out myself but he was blinded by the sun. So I think until he's old enough to wear sunscreen or until the sun goes down at night, we're going to have to stick to using the other stroller.

I wanted to take a picture of him before he went but he didn't want to wait for me to get the camera so you get to see him all sweaty after he finished.

So relaxed after a ride in my new stroller!

Ocean Isle Beach Trip

So I'm a little slower than everyone else who we went to the beach getting my pictures on our blog but here they are!

We went to Ocean Isle Beach for Labor Day weekend with Jason, Jennifer, & 2 mo. old Russell, Ryan, Amy, & 1 yr. old Isaac, and Josh, Leigh Anne, & Baby Caleb (in utero). After sitting in traffic forever we finally made it- what were we thinking leaving to go to the beach on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend at 4:00 pm??? Lesson learned...we will not be doing that again! Thankfully Parker slept through it and was a happy traveler until about 30 minutes before we go there.

Going to the beach just isn't what it used to be now that we have a baby. We needed a lot more stuff! Stroller, diaper bag, beach umbrella......... Saturday was the only really nice day we had to spend at the beach. The water was even warm enough to swim, which the guys did quite a bit of. I'm not really a fan of swimming in the ocean...you just never know what's going to go swimming by and salty water just doesn't thrill me. Parker seemed to enjoy the beach most of the time. He slept quite a bit- I think it was due to the sound of the ocean which he listens to every night when he sleeps. You can't beat the real thing!

We had fun the rest of the time hanging out and playing games (which resulted in Ryan & Amy not getting a lot of sleep one night after we woke Isaac up playing Mad Gab and he refused to go to sleep until the wee hours of the morning...sorry guys!) Dinner was delicious every night and we even got to go for a walk on the beach one night, which was a little trickier with a stroller!

Here are a few pictures of our weekend at the beach:

Here's Parker heading off to the beach. I think this is the cutest picture I've ever seen! I know, I'm biased but just look at him! I don't think it gets much cute than that!

Mommy & Parker at the beach. I think Daddy was in the ocean!

Parker was thoroughly enjoying himself at the beach.

We had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

Parker did amazingly well on his first trip to visit his family in NY. He slept a lot and was a happy rider much of the 12 hours it takes to get there. We even were able to keep our stops to a minimum and each time we stoppped, Chad & I got more and more efficient so we didn't waste too much time. We spent the first part of our trip with Chad's family and the second part of the trip with mine. Our nieces had so much fun playing with "Baby Parker". They were there for every diaper change with lots of questions, which we let Aunt Shani handle! And they were quite fascinated when it came time for him to eat. Molly kept me company pretty much every time he ate! :) Chad's family threw him a birthday party to celebrate his 27th birthday while we were there, and it was great to have everyone together.
Everyone in my family came to the Sandy Pond to see Parker (and us of course...). My Grandma B., Aunt Brenda and cousins Jordan, Kyle, Jenna, and Emma came to spend a few days with us. Aunt Bonnie brought over Virginia for lunch one afternoon, my grandparents from Binghamton drove up for one day, and my cousin Tyler came for a bit one afternoon. I think they only time he wasn't being held was when he was napping or at night! The girls played games and spent lots of time playing with Parker, while the guys spent most of their time fishing. One of the highlights of our trip was going to Ellisburg for the fish fry. Parker thoroughly enjoyed it (he slept right through dinner)!
We were sad to head home but ready to get back into our routine. We can't wait to see everyone again soon!
