For Valentine's Day I'm making Chad a collage of pictures for his new office at work. He's been asking me for awhile and I just haven't put one together so I figured this would be a good time to do it. I didn't have a hard time choosing two of the three pictures to put in it. I had our picture from our Christmas card, and a picture he loves of the two of us in Belize when we went our cruise - but couldn't find a third that I really liked so I decided to take a picture of Parker and Sadie to fill the spot. It took several shots to get a good picture. Here are just a few of the MANY pictures I took trying to get a good one of both of them looking...I never did get one with Sadie looking but the one I got turned out so cute! I know he's going to love it!

Close To Crawling?
Parker seems so close to crawling ... He just can't figure it out! The other night he was actually laying on his belly playing with some toys in front of him, which is unusual. Most of the time he just rolls over onto his back. So we decided to up him up on his knees and see what he would do. From the pictures it looks like he knows what he's doing...but don't let him fool you! He's not going anywhere! I'm sure one day when he's into everything I'll regret wishing he could crawl so soon.
Chad thought maybe if he showed him what to do he'd be able to figure it out.
And yes, those are Christmas pajamas Parker is wearing! We love fleecy jammies and he only has a few that fit him so he'll be wearing them until they don't fit him anymore...or until the weather warms up! I wonder what will come first...

First Time in the NC Snow!
I've had some requests recently to update the blog since my last post was about Parker being six months old and he's now 8 months old! I really would like to be better about it but just find myself busy doing other things. I will try harder to post more about all the fun we're having around here!
We were so excited to get about 7 inches of snow at our house this weekend! It was so pretty and reminded me of NY (but made me thankful that this is a rare happening now that we live in NC and also reminded me why I don't want to live up north!). We didn't get out to play on Saturday since we were taking care of our sick puppy and didn't want to leave her alone. But we did get out Sunday and walked up to our neighbor's house and took Parker sledding. We weren't even sure we had a snowsuit for him to wear. Chad said we were not buying him once since it hardly snows here. But no need to worry...we looked in his closet and Mia had given him a bear snowsuit at our shower, which fit him perfectly. He didn't have much of a reaction to the snow or sledding but we had fun being able to take him.
Look at that tail!
Trying to decide if we were going to try it
We finally decided to do it...and this is the picture Chad got! :( Good try, honey!
Take a look at that face...Looks like our little bear was done being out in the cold!
Someone (I won't say who...but it wasn't me, Parker, or Sadie) didn't want to go in the attic and get my boots for this one trip out in the snow so I had to wear my sneakers to go sledding - Good thing we weren't out there very long! This someone is also not going to be happy that I posted this picture :)

Six Months Old!!
Parker had his six month check up at the beginning of this month and Dr. B said he looks great! He weighed in at 16 lbs 11 oz and is 28 in long. Tall and thin! She said his teeth should be here anytime now but we're still waiting! She mentioned that he could start eating things other than baby food like yogurt, cereal puffs, and basically whatever we're eating all mashed up. I'm hoping for a food processor for Christmas so we can start being a little more creative with what we give him. We have tried a few other things...some things he likes and others he's not so sure about. It took him awhile to get used to eating yogurt because it's so cold but he gobbles it up now. He's beginning to like to little cereal puffs. The first few times we gave them to him he made a face like it was the most disgusting thing he'd ever eaten. He wasn't quite sure what to do with them but is now getting the hang out it. Sweet potatoes are one of his favorites, and he prefers mashed up green beans to the ones in the jar. We also talked to the dr. about a sippy cup and she said to start giving it to him at meal time and let him play with it. Of course he put it right to his mouth but these days, what doesn't go in his mouth??
It's hard to believe six months has gone by already. He's changing so fast and we're enjoying every minute of it! We can't wait for the holidays and getting to spend some time with family!!

Parker's 1st Thanksgiving
Danielle, Mike, my parents and Chad's parents came to visit us for Thanksgiving. We had such a fun visit! We did lots of eating, shopping, and playing with Parker. We even went bowling one night, which we hadn't done in a long time. We hated to see the weekend come to an end, but it won't be too long before Christmas is here and we can be together again!
Greensboro Gobbler
On Thanksgiving morning we all got up and participated in the Greensboro Gobbler 5K Walk/Run. My dad, sister, Mike, and Art ran while the rest of us walked. It was Mike's first (and possibly last) 5K although he did pretty good for not being a runner! Parker loved being outside and ended up falling asleep during mile 2. He's always loved being in the baby bjorn but even more now that he can turn around and see where he's going. As tough as it was getting up early that morning to go, we were all thankful we did when we sat down to dinner...We didn't feel quite as guilty having a little extra!!
Why are we up so early??
