We love our small group. Not only do we meet once a week for dinner and a bible study, we go on fun trips every now and again…this fall we went camping. Little did we know that that weekend was a huge camping weekend, so we had a hard time finding a place! We were originally going to head to Pilot Mountain but apparently they now take reservations and were full. Thankfully we called ahead (good idea, Debbie)! We found some sites available at Lake Norman Campground and ended up really liking it there.
We took Parker camping once last year, and he did great, just a little trouble sleeping…and the same was true again this time. He loved being outside and at one point said to Chad, “I love being outside all day Daddy!”. But then bedtime came around and he just wouldn’t go to sleep…and then when he did go to sleep it didn’t last long. Since he’s outgrown his pack ‘n play, we made him a bed on his own little air mattress next to ours. Both nights he woke up crying, so I ended up on it and he slept in my spot. And both he and Emily were up early so there was no sleeping in a little after our long, somewhat sleepless nights! He also went to bed late both nights and refused to take a nap Saturday afternoon. Needless to say, he (and Chad & I) were exhausted by Sunday, and he actually slept the whole way home. That almost never happens…he usually doesn’t even sleep on our 12 hours drives to NY!). But we still had a great time and can’t wait to go again in the spring!

Parker loved this chair. It was just the right size, and I’m pretty sure he thought it was his! I think he’ll be getting one for future campouts.
